Preparations for Census 2027 begin, Collector Ila Tripathi gives instructions

Nizamabad: District Collector Ila Tripathi on Wednesday directed officials to conduct the census work properly and responsibly. She stated that accurate counts are essential for planning infrastructure and welfare schemes. She was speaking at a training program organized at the Integrated District Office Complex as part of the preparations for Census 2027. Training sessions were held for tehsildars and officials from related departments who will participate in the population count process. The program will run for three days, until March 13th, with a master trainer from Hyderabad guiding participants.
Officials were briefed on the census process, preparation methods, and the use of digital technology in the counting process through a PowerPoint presentation. Addressing the officials, the Collector explained that the last census was conducted in 2011. She added that the next census, originally scheduled for 2021, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated that the upcoming census will be conducted using digital technology in accordance with government guidelines. In the first phase, information on dwellings, buildings, and household details will be collected, followed by the collection of individual demographic details in the second phase. The Collector stated that this work will be conducted using a fully digital system for the first time in the country. He also recalled that last year, as a pilot project, household and housing data collection was successfully conducted in Tiparthi Mandal of Nalgonda district and Pinapaka Mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district. He appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and provide accurate information, assuring them that individual data will remain confidential and be stored securely on government servers. Emphasizing the importance of self-declaration, he urged enumerators and officials to work together to ensure smooth conduct of the work. The Collector directed the officers in charge to review the census process daily and regularly monitor progress to ensure the completion of the population count within the stipulated time.
