Prashanth Thyagarajan set to make a comeback in Tamil film industry

Mumbai: Prashanth Thyagarajan is a popular actor in the Tamil film industry. After starting his entertainment career at the age of 17 with the film Vaigasi Poranthachu, the actor got his first breakthrough with Shankar’s film Jeans in 1998. The success of Jeans earned him the opportunity to work in big film projects like Kannedhire Thondrinal, Kadhal Kavithai, Jodi and Parthen Rasithen. Prashanth is the son of director-actor Thyagarajan. He is all set to make a comeback to the Tamil film industry after six years with his film Andhagan. It is an official remake of the superhit Bollywood film Andhadhun. The Tamil remake is directed by Thyagarajan. It was earlier scheduled to release on August 15, but now the makers have postponed its theatrical release date to August 9. The crime-thriller film Andhagan stars Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakan, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, Vanitha Vijayakumar and Manobala in lead roles. It is the story of a blind pianist who unwittingly gets embroiled in a murder. It is produced by Shanthi and Preethi Thyagarajan. Music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan. The makers have reportedly pushed the film’s release date due to the clash of much-awaited films on August 15. Vikram’s Thangalan, Keerthy Suresh’s Raghu Thatha and Arulnithi’s Demonte Colony 2 will be releasing in theatres on Independence Day. To avoid clash with such films, the makers of Andhagan decided to release their film a week earlier.
