Possibility of ceasefire in Gaza, Israel may agree to release 1000 Palestinian prisoners

Tel Aviv: The possibility of a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel has increased. Both sides have agreed to step back from their previous demands. While Hamas has agreed to a six-week pause in the war instead of its demand for a permanent end, Israel has almost agreed to release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. Of these, 100 are accused of serious crimes including murder. A series of meetings between negotiators were held in Doha, Cairo and Paris over the past two days to hammer out a ceasefire. Sources in Israeli intelligence agencies told IANS that Qatar has informed the Hamas leadership that if they do not back down from their unreasonable demands, Qatar will not hesitate to deport their leaders from the country. According to sources, Hamas will release all Israeli detainees, including soldiers, in exchange for the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners. Israeli intelligence agencies have informed the government that 32 of the 134 Israeli hostages remaining in Gaza have died. Sources in the Israeli Prime Minister’s office said that in exchange for the release of 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, Hamas would release the remaining 102 hostages and send the bodies of 32 hostages to Israel.
