Police raided the gambling den, 13 gamblers arrested

Raigarh: Raigarh night police post Kharsia in-charge Sanjay Nag received information from an informer that some people were gambling with 52 cards near village Lodhiya canal bridge. After informing the senior officers about the information, on their guidance, the post in-charge along with his staff cordoned off the gambling den and conducted a raid. Where the police arrested 13 persons from two gambling dens, from whom a total of ₹ 10,200 and gambling material 52 cards were seized.

Action has been taken against the accused in Kharsia police station under section 3(2) of crime number 440, 441/2024 Chhattisgarh Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2022. Outpost in-charge Kharsia sub-inspector Sanjay Nag, head constable Ashok Dewangan, Shankar Singh Kshatriya, Manoj Marawi, constable Kirti Sidar, Sohanlal Yadav, Somnath Patel and Mukesh Yadav were involved in the gambling raid operation.

Both the gamblers were caught at the gambling den –

(5) Mohan Singh Sardar father Bhagatram Sardar age 59 years resident Ratanpali police station Sakti district Sakti

(6) Hemcharan Sahu father Bedram Sahu age 45 years resident Singhara police station Malkharoda district Sakti
