Police raid on gambling, 6 people arrested
Raigarh. Police have arrested 6 people playing gambling in Kharsia area. Last night, on 27-28 October 2024, Kharsia police post in-charge Sanjay Kumar Nag and his team raided the gambling den of FCI Mohalla Thakurdia during night patrolling. Police surrounded the place from all sides and caught the people gambling with cards on the spot. The arrested accused include- Shyam Lal Yadav (age 48 years), Daniel Oraon (age 25 years), Chhotu alias Vimal Nishad (age 25 years), Ajay Das Mahant (age 33 years), Sunil Kumar Nishad (age 23 years) and Sonu Rautia (age 23 years), all residents of FCI Mohalla Thakurdia and Bhainapara police station Kharsia. The police seized a total cash amount of Rs 9,340, 52 sets of cards and a plastic bag from the spot in the presence of witnesses. The accused have been booked under Section 3(2) of the Chhattisgarh Gambling Prohibition Act.
Sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar Nag along with constables Kirti Sidar, Sohan Yadav, Somnath Patel and Savil Chandra were involved in the operation.
