Police raid duplicate detergent making factory in Cuttack, 5 detained

Cuttack: Police conducted a raid and seized adulterated detergent powder in Andei sahi area of Cuttack’s Jagatpur. The set up to manufacture duplicate detergent was being conducted at a rented house in the area.

The police seized lakhs of duplicate detergents packets ready to be sold in the markets. Additionally, raw materials, chemicals, machines were seized by the Jagatpur police. The property was worth Rs 50 lakh estimated the officials.

The factory has been sealed. As many as five including the owners of the company are being questioned. One of the owners has a past record of supplying duplicate products in Tangi police station informed the raiding officials.

Police is skimming the trade license and other documents related to the license of the company. Similarly, inspection for adulteration is also being conducted.
