Police-Naxalite encounter continues, one Naxalite killed

Kanker. A police-Naxalite encounter took place in Chilparas of the heavily Naxal-affected Koylibeda area of Kanker district. In the encounter, the soldiers have killed a Naxalite, whose body has also been recovered. The encounter has been confirmed by Kanker Superintendent of Police IK Alesela. SP IK Alesela said that the soldiers had gone to Chilparas of Koyalibera on Saturday for searching. Here the Naxalites opened fire on them. The soldiers also retaliated, in which a Naxalite was killed. SP said that the body of a uniformed Naxalite, 1 sten gun, explosives and other material have been recovered. At present the party is returning after the encounter is over. There was an encounter between police and Naxalites in Bijapur district also late on Friday evening.

This encounter took place in Bedre police station area of the district. Police had received information that Naxalites were gathered in the forest of Bedre police station area. Hardcore Naxalites of National Park Area Committee are present here. After this, a contingent of police force from Bijapur was sent to the spot. When the soldiers reached the Naxalites’ hideout, the Naxalites attacked them. After this the soldiers also took charge and responded to the bullets of the Naxalites. There was firing from both sides for about 20 to 25 minutes. Seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed, the Naxalites escaped under the cover of the forest. After the firing stopped, the soldiers conducted a search operation at the spot. In which bodies of two Naxalites were recovered. Along with this, items of daily use of Naxalites including weapons and explosives have also been found.
