Police exposed scam in PMKKY

Adilabad: Ramagundam police arrested the owners of Ultimate Energy Resources Pvt Ltd for taking fake fingerprints to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKKY). The accused were identified as Mallikarjuna of Hyderabad, Salim Jaffer and Venkatesh of Narsampet and Devendra of Mancherial.

The police recovered fake fingerprints, material used for fingerprinting and attendance registers and documents, laptop and biometric machine. Devendra was in-charge of the skill development center of Ultimate Energy Resources Pvt. Ltd.

The company has offices in Madhurnagar, Mancherial, Huzurnagar and Jangoan in Hyderabad and reportedly trains 320 unemployed youth every year at each centre. The center pays Rs 13,000 to each unemployed youth to provide skill training.
The matter came to light after a raid at Mancherial Centre. Police said 300 unemployed youth were enrolled in Mancherial but only 50 were attending classes. This resulted in the center receiving less compensation, and faking appearances to make more money.
To increase fees from the centre, the staff started registering fake fingerprints of students. On receiving information about the scam, Ramagundam Police Commissioner M. Srinivas formed a task force and raided the Mancherial Centre.
