Poems come from emotions, not from planning: Piyush Mishra

Madhya Pradesh: Lyricist and film actor Piyush Mishra said that for him, poems are not pre-planned compositions; they are emotions that emerge from circumstances and personal experiences. Instead of writing words, he prefers to listen to them. Sadness, pain, and emotions naturally take the form of poetry.

He was speaking at the inaugural session of the 8th edition of the Bhopal Literature and Art Festival (BLF) at Bharat Bhavan on Friday.

Speaking about his popular book “Tumhari Kya Aukaat Hai,” Mishra explained that the word “aukaat” is not an insult or a challenge, but a question to ask oneself. It makes people aware of their limitations, fears, and truths.

Sharing his life’s struggles, he said that theater is a passion, not a profession. Moving from Gwalior to Delhi was a difficult challenge, and establishing acting as a profession was not easy. Nevertheless, he dedicated himself to theatre from 1980 to 1985.
