PM Safe Motherhood Campaign launched for pregnant women

Ambikapur. Under the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan, one of the ambitious schemes of the Government of India, special prenatal health camps will be organized in the district on the 9th and 24th of the month. Earlier this campaign was organized only on the 9th, but now it is being done twice every month, so that more and more pregnant women can get benefits. On this occasion, a total of 1122 pregnant women were registered in 37 health centers of the district. Out of these, 213 women have been identified as high risk pregnant, while the remaining 722 women are being provided examination, treatment and counseling services.
For the smooth implementation of the campaign, medical teams were deployed in all community, primary and identified sub-health centers. On this occasion, District Collector Shri Vilas Bhoskar inspected the arrangements at Navapara Urban Community Health Center and praised the maternal health services.
Improvement in safe motherhood and child health
Through this scheme, women in the second and third trimester of pregnancy are being given timely treatment and counseling by identifying complications such as anemia, high blood pressure, diabetes. Along with this, efforts are being made to reach those women who have missed ANC services or have received incomplete services. Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan is an effective step towards reducing maternal and infant mortality. The Health Department has appealed to all pregnant women to avail this facility by visiting the nearest health center on the 9th and 24th of the month.
