PM Modi hits back at Rahul on ‘Shakti’, says – ‘I am a devotee of Mother India’

Telangana: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public rally in Telangana on Monday, hit back at Rahul Gandhi’s controversial remarks on ‘Shakti’ and said he will fight with full force against any conspiracy and conspiracy of the opposition against it. Notably, Rahul Gandhi created controversy with his objectionable remarks against Shakti, a sacred and revered figure in Hinduism, during a massive opposition demonstration at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park on Sunday.

Taking a dig at the Congress leader, PM Modi said, “His fight is against Shakti but for me, every mother and daughter is a representation of Shakti” and pledged to “fight for it till the last breath”. Describing himself as a ‘true devotee of Mother India’, PM Modi further said, “I will devote my life to protect every form of power.” Rahul’s comment sparked a major controversy and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ) also drew sharp comments as Rahul accused him of promoting misogynistic views. The BJP also criticized him and the Indian alliance for their hatred towards Hinduism and Hindu beliefs. Criticizing Rahul’s statement of ‘fighting against power’, a BJP spokesperson said, “Not just him, many members of the Indian alliance have called Hinduism a fraud.

Congress is known for Hindu hatred. He has denied the existence of Lord Ram.” Now making derogatory statements against Shakti. Rahul said on Sunday after concluding his 66-day long Nyay Yatra in Maharashtra, “In Hindu religion there is a person named ‘Shakti’. The word is. We are fighting against that power.” Rahul also targeted the Modi government and accused it of using state machinery like ED, CBI and IT to suppress the voice of the opposition.
