PM Modi gave the gift of Maa Mahamaya Airport Darima
Raipur. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually joined the inauguration ceremony of Maa Mahamaya Airport Darima, Ambikapur from Varanasi. The people of Surguja welcomed him with applause. The air strip at Maa Mahamaya Airport in Darima, Ambikapur has been upgraded under the Regional Connectivity Scheme of the Government of India. This airport is spread over 365 acres. It has been built at a cost of Rs 80 crore. This airport is of 3 CVFR category. 72 seater aircraft can land in it. The terminal building has been expanded according to the estimated capacity of 5 lakh passengers annually.
Governor Ramen Deka, while addressing the people present on the occasion of the inauguration of Maa Mahamaya Airport Ambikapur, said that today is a historic day for the Surguja region, with the start of Maa Mahamaya Airport, new dimensions of development will open in this region. A better air connectivity will be established for the citizens and industrialists of Surguja region through the airport. After Bastar, Sarguja is the second largest tribal dominated area of the state, where this facility is being started. He further said that this flight will take Chhattisgarh to new heights of development. Sarguja will set a new flight of development not only in the state but in the entire country.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said on this occasion that our illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi is starting a new era of development in the tribal dominated Sarguja region by inaugurating the Maa Mahamaya Airport of Ambikapur today. He said that this airport is linked to the dreams of the people of Sarguja. The people here have been dreaming for years that this tribal region will also be connected to the rest of the country through air connectivity. The time has come for the fulfillment of this dream of theirs. He said that as per the wishes of the Prime Minister, the dream of traveling by airplane of those wearing hawai chappals in the country is coming true. The vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is to establish better aviation services in the country and connect all parts of the country with it.
The Chief Minister said that the inauguration of this airport today is a great news for Sarguja as well as the entire Chhattisgarh. People of Jagdalpur, Raipur, Bilaspur have also been waiting for a long time for the day when they will be able to come to Ambikapur easily. This airport will also connect two big tribal divisions of the state, so its inauguration is also very important for the development of the tribal community of the state. During the tenure of Prime Minister Modi, continuous steps have been taken to intensify air connectivity in Chhattisgarh. The number of facilities and flights has also increased at Jagdalpur, Raipur and Bilaspur airports.
