New syllabus released for general elections
The Election Department has released new syllabus for the Plus 2 and Class 10 public examinations to be held in March and April in Tamil Nadu. The press release issued in this regard reads:
Students taking Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Business Mathematics, and Statistics in the Higher Secondary Examination will be provided with 20,000 A4-sized logarithm books in large print.
Starting this year, students will be allowed to use simple calculators without programming capabilities for the Accounting course.
After the question papers are distributed to the students appearing for the exam, the remaining question papers are sealed in envelopes by the invigilator in front of the students in each examination room. This further strengthens the confidentiality of the question papers.
For candidates with disabilities who are taking the ‘scribe’ option, a separate question paper envelope containing five question papers is being provided.
It is reported that this year, the facility of Aadhaar card verification and uploading details was introduced directly to confirm the address of the candidates and ensure that they apply in their respective districts.
