Pickup van overturns in Dhenkanal, 2 kanwariyas critical and 15 injured
Kamakhyanagar: In a tragic incident a pickup van overturns in Dhenkanal district of Odisha in which as many as two kanwariyas were critically injured and as many as 15 were injured.
According to latest reports all of them have been rescued and have been rushed to the Bhuban Medical center where they are being treated. All the kanwariyas involved in the accident belong to Surapratapur village of Bhuban block in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
All of them were on their way home after pouring water on Daudeswar Shiva in the holy month of Sharvan. The pickup van drivers allegedly lost control over the wheels and the vehicle overturned. The local people and the police rushed to the spot to help the accident victims said reports.
The MLA of Kamakhyanagar Shatrughan Jena also paid the victims a visit to the hospital. He urged the medical staff to provide the kanwariyas with the best possible medical services.
In a tragic incident on August 3 as many as three people have died in a truck accident in Berhampur of Ganjam district in Odisha. The deceased includes two kanwariyas and one old man. The accident was so severe that two people lost their lives on the spot, whereas the other breathed his last in the hospital.
According to reports, the incident took place near Dimiria village square on National Highway No. 16 in Khallikote block of Ganjam. The two deceased kanwariyas belong to Banpur village whereas the deceased old man was a resident of Dalibati village.
A truck allegedly lost control and drove over them and then overturned. It is worth mentioning here that, the truck driver is completely unhurt in the accident. The police has seized the truck and detained the driver and is questioning him.
Recently on July 22, there has a bus accident in Chandipur in which as many as 17 Kanwariyas had been injured. According to reports, 17 Kanwariyas sustained injuries after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident on NH-20 near Chandipur late last night that is on Sunday.
It is worth mentioning that all the injured have been admitted to the hospital at Jajpur Road. The bus was on the way to Puri from Anandapur of Keonjhar district in Odisha.
