Phillaur: Two smugglers arrested with 195 narcotic pills, 610 capsules

Punjab: In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, police arrested two drug smugglers with a huge quantity of narcotic pills and capsules near the canal bridge between Dhuletta and Phalpota villages. Giving information in this regard, Phillaur DSP Sarwan Singh Ball said that SHO Inspector Sikander Singh along with Assistant Sub Inspector Subhash Kumar in charge of Dhuletta police post and police team arrested Rajat alias Tanu, resident of village Patti Lalo Ki Bada and Ajay Kumar, resident of village Dhuletta. He said that during the search, police recovered 195 narcotic pills, 610 narcotic capsules (dark red in colour) and a Bajaj Platina motorcycle with registration number P2-08-45-1425 from the possession of both the accused. The DSP said that a case has been registered against both the accused under sections 22, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and investigation has been started.
