Phagwara: One person arrested for drug trafficking
Phagwara: Police have arrested a ‘drug smuggler’ for selling heroin. 5 grams of heroin was seized from the possession of Karam Singh of Lattiyan village of Kapurthala, police said. A case has been registered against the accused under section 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act and the car used by the accused has been seized.
4 arrested for attacking villager
Phagwara: Police have arrested four villagers of Kapurthala for attacking a co-villager. The accused have been identified as Shinder Pal alias Sodhi, Prabhjeet Singh, Pannu alias Sahil and Lovepreet Singh, all residents of Doda Wazir village. Navdeep Singh had complained to the police that the accused stopped and attacked him in front of the nursing college on August 3.
Car falls into drain, one dead
Phagwara: One person died and two were seriously injured after a car fell into Bhangi drain. The car driver Jagdeep Singh said that they were returning to their village Hardokhanpur in their car at around 1 am. When they reached near Bhangi drain, suddenly a stray animal came in front of the car. In an attempt to save it, the car went out of control and fell into the drain. Harjeet Singh died on the spot.
Youth missing, case registered
Phagwara: A 17-year-old youth of Sango Wal village has been missing for the last two days. The deceased has been identified as Vikramjit Singh alias Vicky. He left home on the night of July 5 and did not return home. A missing report has been registered.
