Patriotism in Action: Massive Turnout for Civil Defence volunteers in Chandigarh

In a powerful display of community spirit and patriotism nearly, 5000 residents gathered at Tiranga Urban Park. As cross-border military strikes between India and Pakistan continues to escalate in the wake of 22 April Pahalgam terror attack and the following Operation Sindoor, the Chandigarh Administration issued an open appeal calling young citizens to join as Civil Defence volunteers.

Chandigarh administration put up a notice which read, “Chandigarh administration invites young citizens who are above 18 years age, to join as Civil Defence Volunteers and support emergency preparedness,” the post also added that the training would begin on May 10 at 10.30 AM, at the venue Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh is among the several cities which is facing blackouts to hinder Pakistani drones attacking Indian defence installations.

The spirit of Patriotism was seen among the volunteers as men, women, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs – all chanted “Bharat Mata ki Jai!” and Hindustan Zindabad!

Senior officials addressed the crowd by saying how proud they feel to see the country being united and ready to serve the nation no matter what.

The training camp at the Tagore theatre was conducted by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the fire department. The three-hour training covered essential emergency response techniques, preparing the civilians to act quickly during such emergency situations.
