Pastor sentenced to 5 years in jail in molestation case, court also imposed fine of Rs 2 lakh

Dantewada. The pastor who molested a minor in the district has been jailed for 5 years. Along with this, a fine of Rs 2 lakh has also been imposed. The court of Dantewada Additional Sessions Judge Shailesh Sharma has given the verdict. It is being told that the name of the pastor is Hemant Sona (44), who is a resident of Mahasamund district.

He had come to Bacheli in 2017 to serve in the church. A family from the area used to go to this church to pray. Pastor Hemant Sona had good relations with the family. We started visiting each other’s houses.

One day when the minor was alone in her house, the pastor reached there. He started touching the minor here and there. He also showed some obscene pictures and then started pressurizing him for physical relations. He threatened the minor that if he told this to anyone, it would not be right. After this he left. When the family returned home, the 16-17 year old minor, frightened by this act of the pastor, informed the family about this. After which the family members immediately lodged a report of the case in the police station.

The matter reached the court. Statements of some people were also recorded in connection with this matter. After all the witnesses and evidence, the court of Dantewada Additional Sessions Judge Shailesh Sharma convicted the accused pastor and sentenced him to 5 years imprisonment. Also ordered to pay Rs 2 lakh to the victim as compensation.
