Palghar: Woman murdered in Virar after domestic quarrel, husband and sister-in-law arrested

Maharashtra: A 35-year-old woman living in Virar was murdered following a domestic dispute. On Saturday morning, her husband and sister-in-law allegedly assaulted her and attacked her with a sharp weapon. Police have arrested both accused.
The deceased, Kalpana Soni (35), lived with her husband in Sangam Society, MB Estate, Virar West. She married Mahesh Soni in 2015. Since their marriage, her in-laws had allegedly been physically and mentally harassing her, leading to frequent fights.
Around 9:00 a.m. Saturday, another altercation broke out. During the argument, Kalpana stated that she was leaving the house and demanded her ‘stree-dhan’ (belongings/jewelry) back. Enraged, her husband, Mahesh Soni (38), and sister-in-law, Deepali Soni (35), attacked her. They struck her on the head and forehead with a sharp weapon, killing her on the spot.
