Palanquin of Lord Badrivishal reaches Badrinath Dham, temple to open on May 4

Badrinath: The Badrinath Temple shall open on May 4 at 6:00 am. The temple is opened just for six months in a year generally from May to November, depending on the weather.
It is worth mentioning here that, the opening date of the Badrinath temple is announced on Basant Panchami every year, the day is considered to be auspicious according to the Hindu almanac.
According to reports, the festive palanquin of Lord Badrivishal reached Badrinath Dham, the temple of Lord Badrivishal is being decorated with marigold flowers, the doors of the temple shall open tomorrow at 6 am.
The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has begun preparations for the upcoming Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Dham Yatra. The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham are opening on May 4 and that of Shri Kedarnath Dham on May 2, a release said.
Meanwhile, the Uttarakhand government has made the Green Card mandatory for all commercial vehicles carrying 13 or more passengers as part of its safety measures, an official statement said.
According to officials, commercial vehicles registered in Uttarakhand will be issued Green Cards valid for the entire pilgrimage season; those from other states will receive cards valid for only 15 days. The work of making Green Cards has also started on Friday.
