Priyanka Chopra Troll: Pakistani actress Adnan Siddiqui on Friday addressed Sharmeen Obed-Chinoy as ‘South Asian’ in a post on Twitter tagging Priyanka Chopra. Priyanka shared a post praising Sharmin for Star Wars. Adnan tweeted and criticized Priyanka expressing displeasure over her choice of words.

In his post, Adnan Siddiqui wrote- “With due respect, Priyanka Chopra, to increase your knowledge, let me tell you that Sharmeen Obed-Chinoy is the first Pakistani. Just like before claiming to be South Asian, whenever you get a chance, you express your Indian citizenship.

Adnan Siddiqui has also appeared opposite Sridevi in the Bollywood film Mom. His dramas Maat, Mere Qatil Mere Humdum, Mohabbat Subah Ka Sitara Hai are quite popular in India as well. People are giving mixed reactions to his tweet as well. A Pakistani user said that we should be proud that our country is being named. So the other wrote that it is okay, we are South Asians only, we should ignore small things.
Sharmeen Obed-Chinoy was congratulated
Priyanka recently congratulated Sharmeen on her Instagram stories. She wrote, “First person of color and first woman to direct a Star Wars film, and she’s South Asian! What a historic moment, Sharmeen. So proud of you, my friend. Go on.”
Apart from Priyanka, several celebrities have sent congratulatory messages to Sharmin for the film. Many Pakistanis were also involved in this. Mahvish Haya wrote, “And it begins in a Galaxy far, far away.” Others like Wajahat Rauf and Adnan Malik also commented on the director’s post on Instagram. While Rauf wrote, “Congratulations”, Adnan said, “You have had a wonderful journey, we are very excited for you.”
