Padmashree award to Bastar’s Hemchand Manjhi, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai congratulated him
Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has given his best wishes to the famous Vaidyaraj Hemchand Manjhi of Chhote Dongar of Narayanpur district on being honored with the Padma Shri award by His Excellency President Draupadi Murmu.
In his message, he said that the eminent Vaidyaraj Shri Hemchand Manjhi of Abujmad, who has been providing natural and affordable health care services to the villagers of entire Chhattisgarh including Bastar for more than 5 decades, has been honored with the Padma Shri Award by the hands of Her Excellency President Smt. Draupadi Murmu. My hearty congratulations and best wishes for your success. His selfless service in the field of rural health care is inspiring and exemplary for all of us.
It is noteworthy that Hemchand Manjhi, born in Chhota Dongar of Narayanpur, has been treating people since the time when there were no health facilities in that area. Due to his knowledge and service spirit, he started treating people and has been treating patients for the last 5 decades. The suffering patients living in nearby states including Chhattisgarh and abroad also reach Chhote Dongar and get treatment. When Hemchand Manjhi was awarded the Padma Shri, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored him by inviting him to his residence.
