Padmapur Sensational incident in Shriballabhpur village of Raigarh

Padmapur: A 38-year-old man was allegedly murdered inside his home on Saturday in Sriballabhpur village of Kenduguda Panchayat in the Padmapur block of Raigarh district. The deceased has been identified as Ravindra Sabar.

According to his wife, Lakshmi Sabar, a community feast was being held in the village on Saturday. Ravindra was eating lunch at home when the incident occurred around 2 p.m. She alleged that Shyam Parija, a resident of the same village, entered the house, attacked Ravindra with an axe, and fled the scene. The family took the injured man to the Padmapur Community Health Center, where Dr. Chinmay Samal, who was present, declared him dead. Lakshmi alleged that the attack stemmed from a quarrel that had occurred the previous night.

She said Shyam was very drunk and was creating a ruckus in the area on Friday night. When Ravindra objected to his behavior and asked him to stop, an argument broke out between them. He claimed that Shyam attacked him to avenge a quarrel. Padmapur police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation.

Inspector-in-Charge Dharnidhar Pradhan said efforts are underway to apprehend the accused and establish the true circumstances of the incident.
