Over 100 killed in Israeli strike on Gaza school
Gaza: Over 100 Palestinians have been killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli strike on a school in Gaza that was sheltering displaced people, according to a statement from the Hamas-run Gaza government on Saturday. The strike occurred as people were performing prayers
“The occupation army directly bombed the displaced people while they were performing the dawn prayer, and this caused the number of martyrs to rise rapidly,” the Gaza Government Media Office said in a statement following the attack on Saturday morning.
In a statement, the Israeli army said its air forces “struck command and control centre that served as a hideout for Hamas terrorists and commanders”.
Gaza’s civil defence agency said three Israeli rockets hit the al-Tabin school, located in al-Daraj district, describing the incident as a “horrific massacre”, with some bodies catching fire, as reported by AlJazeera.
On August 4, two schools serving as shelters for displaced people in Gaza City were hit by an Israeli strike which killed 30 and injured several others. The previous day, an Israeli strike on Hamama School in Gaza City killed 17 people.
On August 1, 15 people were killed after an Israeli strike hit Dalal al-Mughrabi School.
