OSSSC to re-conduct RI, ARI, Amin, ICDS and SFS exams from October 8

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) on Monday issued a notification over the re-conduct of the Preliminary Examination for various posts under the Combined Recruitment Examination-2023 (IV).
As per the notification, the preliminary exams of the posts of Revenue Inspector (RI), ICDS Supervisor, Assistant Revenue Inspector (ARI), Amin, and Statistical Field Surveyor (SFS) will be held in Computer-Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE) mode from October 8, 2025 and may continue until the third week of November 2025.
“In pursuance of the Advertisement No. 938(C)/OSSSC dt.29.12.2023 & Notice No. 1470/OSSSC dt.30.06.2025, the Commission has been pleased to decide that the Preliminary Examination for the posts of RI, ICDS Supervisor, ARI, Amin & SFS under CRE-2023(IV) shall be re-conducted in CBRE mode from 8th October, 2025 and may continue up to 3rd week of November, 2025 in all districts of the State,” read the notification.
The OSSSC has advised the candidates are to download the Admission Letter by logging in the web portal of the Commission www.osssc.gov.in with their User ID and Password and take the Mock test while downloading Admission Letter by clicking the link “Mock Test”.
Date, Venue, Timing and centre details of the examination will be available in the Admission Letter, said the notification while clarifying that no hard copy of Admission Letter will be sent to any candidate by post.
It further said that since examination will be conducted in different dates in multiple shifts using multiple question sets, Normalization methodology for Computer Based Test Examinations shall be adopted by the Commission to convert raw score into Normalized Score. “Extract of Normalization Methodology is available in OSSSC web portal for reference of candidates”.
Examination Centres have been identified in all districts, the Commission said but due to inadequate infrastructure/capacity at Examination Centres in some districts, some candidates are allocated Examination Centres other than their preferred district given at the time of submission of online application.
The PwD candidates having benchmark disability shall be allowed compensatory time of 30 minutes (@20 minutes per hour) as per rules.
The Commission further said that the Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.
Meanwhile, the candidates have been advised to visit the website of the Commission at regular intervals for updates.
It is to be noted here that the OSSSC on July 30 had cancelled the Main Exams, which were to be slated to be held between August 1 and September 4, after cancelling the preliminary exams, held earlier. Advocate General Pitambar Acharya had conveyed the Commission’s decision of cancelling the preliminary exams to the Orissa High Court.
