Orissa High Court allows six tall gates during Dussehra in Cuttack

Cuttack: In a happy and good news for the residents of the Cuttack City, the Orissa High Court has reportedly allowed to set up six tall gates during the upcoming Dussehra in the Silver City.
While conducting a hearing about the problems of Cuttack City, the High Court has allowed to build six high-rise gates in different parts of Cuttack City during the Dussehra puja.
The six places where the high-rise gates have been permitted are Badambadi, Khannagar, Ranihat, Chandini Chowk, Malgodown and Shikharpur. However, the court directed for inspection of these gates by a magistrate-level officer to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory norms.
This apart, the court also asked the Puja committees to apply for permission from the Sub-Divisional Magistrate through a single-window system at Barabati Palace from tomorrow
It is to be noted here that the Orissa High Court earlier had imposed a ban on building such tall gates during Dussehra. Besides, it had prohibited for decoration on the roads during the Puja this year. This had caused a massive dissentient among the residents of city, which has been celebrating the festival in a grand manner for ages. However, the latest permission of the court for the six tall gates during Dussehra in Cuttack has elated them.
This year, the Navaratri will commence on September 22 (Monday) and conclude with Vijayadashami on October 2.
