organized anti-drug programs

The city police today organized a drug awareness program in Senior Secondary and Residential Meritorious Schools falling in Gate Hakima and Chheharta police station areas.

The artists performing in the program sang songs to teach the school children and participants to stay away from drugs. Many social organizations also participated in the programs. In the program the students took an oath not to consume drugs and participate in sports.

On this occasion children participated in judo, wrestling and tug of war competitions. Deputy Commissioner of Police Satveer Singh distributed trophies and certificates to the winners.
Police officials urged the attendees to cooperate with the police to eliminate drug menace from the society and asked them to share information with the police about people involved in drug trafficking in their areas.
DCP Singh said, “If we want to make our society drug free, then all sections of the society should come forward and contribute in curbing the menace of drugs.”
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Harkamal Kaur and Prabhjot Singh were also present on the occasion.
