Tamil Nadu: The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall for Tamil Nadu today.
It has been reported that some places in the state may receive 120 mm to 200 mm of rainfall.
The Chennai Meteorological Department had previously warned that 10 districts, including Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, and Thanjavur, would receive heavy rainfall on Monday due to a low-level atmospheric circulation in the southeast Arabian Sea.
As a result, the India Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for very heavy rainfall in some areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal today.
It has also been reported that light rainfall will continue in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry for the next seven days.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure area (cyclonic circulation) formed over Kumari Sagar and adjoining areas on Sunday (November 23). Consequently, a low-pressure area (cyclonic circulation) is likely to form over Kumari Sagar and adjoining areas of Sri Lanka-Southwest Bay of Bengal on Tuesday (November 25).
