Oracle To Layoff 20000 Employees Is Ai Impacting Senior Employees

New Delhi: The giant tech company Oracle has also announced layoffs. About 20 thousand people will lose their jobs in the company. The company made this announcement on Monday. It said that there are possibilities of laying off 20 to 30 thousand people worldwide. This matter was conveyed to the employees through e-mails sent this morning. The massive layoffs will be made against the employees of the Oracle company in the US, India, Canada and Latin countries. Seniors working in the Oracle company are also being laid off. Nina Livas, a senior security professional who has worked in Oracle for 33 years, will also lose her job.

She wrote on her LinkedIn profile that she would be among the 30,000 layoffs. She said that the decision taken by her company was shocking. She opined in her post that the impact of artificial intelligence was falling on senior employees. Lewis joined the company in 1990. She worked on databases and security platforms. She was recently promoted to security alert manager. She also worked with engineering and security teams. Lewis was the principal ethical hacker and principal security analyst at Oracle.

She said in her post that she feels that senior employees have been targeted. Despite the number of layoffs, the dismissal of senior employees has become questionable. It is unfortunate that those who have been working in the company for a long time and skilled employees are being affected. Recently, Meta, Microsoft, Disney, and ASMA companies have also announced layoffs. Meta and Microsoft companies have laid off 20 thousand employees in the last week.

At the current stage, many companies are investing heavily in artificial intelligence. Companies are busy automating processes. Working teams are being rebuilt. However, there are opinions that companies are working in a way that is high efficiency, low input, and high profits. Companies that are focused on profits are thinking about whether they need high salaries. However, it seems that they are willing to hire young employees along with AI in their place.

Entry-level jobs have been completely automated. This is adding to the problems for fresh graduates. Senior software engineer Raushan Singh said that almost all top companies are not giving opportunities to freshers. He said that hiring is happening only based on the need. He said that mid- and senior-level engineers are relying on AI to increase their capabilities, due to which service as well as product-based companies are not able to give jobs to freshers.

Manager and director level jobs, which were considered secure in the past, are now without a guarantee. At the present stage, no college offers a 100 percent placement guarantee, said Dr. Purnima Gupta, Director, PDDM, Great Lakes Institute of Management. She said that new graduates are doing small jobs to gain experience. It seems that companies are now moving forward with an AI-first future from the cost-cutting phase.

Oracle is investing heavily in cloud and AI infrastructure. It is redesigning its workforce. As part of this, long-serving employees are being laid off. It is estimated that automation has increased due to the focus on technology, and layoffs are also high due to the focus on profits.
