Opposition-VD Satheesan first to speak on central defiance in Wayanad
Kerala: Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan said UDUF was the first to speak about central neglect in Wayanad. Satheesan asked if the ministers who say that the opposition does not speak against the Centre do not live on this planet. Opposition was the first to speak in the assembly against central negligence in the Wayanad tragedy.
Days before the Chief Minister, the opposition had said that the Centre was ignoring it. Even when they were asked to pay for the helicopter, the opposition opposed it. Kerala MPs led by Priyanka Gandhi met the Union Home Minister. Many MPs including Shashi Tharoor spoke about the injustice of Wayanad in Parliament. We have to think thrice about fighting with the LDF against central neglect. The UDF has the strength to fight on its own. There is no need to fight with the LDF.
The leak of question paper is a shameful incident. What action has the government taken against it? Question papers are being leaked continuously in Kerala. Question papers are being leaked by the teachers’ union belonging to the ruling party for tuition institutes. Everyone knows this. That is why no action has been taken. Why have the names of more than 1400 social security pensioners who have been cheated not been released yet? Have they committed any serious crime? Still I will not reveal the names. If names are revealed, a large number of people will be associated with the CPM. The government is trying to save them. Extorting the wages and pensions of the poor is a criminal offense.
If you reveal their names, the local people will come and beat you up. People associated with their organization are also behind adding the question paper. If cases are investigated against people associated with the CPM, it will be like the Naveen Babu case was investigated. There is a fear that a lawyer will be brought from Delhi to oppose the CBI investigation in Naveen Babu’s case. The CPM has many things to fear.
What was the government’s reaction to the Maniyar issue? It has been decided to give the Maniyar hydroelectric project to a private company for a period of 25 years. The private company has been given a plan to raise Rs 500 crore in 25 years. Yet the Chief Minister is silent. Long stories of corruption are coming to the fore. The UDF will discuss the issues of corruption of the government in the meeting and go on strike.

The government should be ready to investigate the allegations of MLA Vincent. After knowing the government’s side in this matter, it will be raised strongly inside and outside the Assembly.
