One dead, 2 injured after tractor overturns in Sumb

One person died while two others were injured when a tractor laden with iron rods overturned in Budhwana village of Sumb area of Samba this evening.

The accident took place when Prakash Chand and his nephew were carrying the iron rods in the tractor from village Sumb to their home. On reaching near Budhwana, the driver of the tractor lost control and fell into the ditch below due to which one person fell down from the tractor and was trapped. The other two persons were also injured.

After the accident, people came forward to help and with the support of the police, they shifted the injured person to the District Hospital, Samba. On reaching the hospital the doctor declared him as brought dead. The deceased has been identified as 50 year old Prakash Chand, son of Vas Dev, resident of village Sanoor, Sumb of district Samba. Police have registered a case in this regard and started further investigation.

The injured tractor driver took advantage of the opportunity and managed to escape. The other injured (nephew of the deceased) has also been discharged from the hospital after treatment. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the District Hospital Samba for post-mortem.
