One arrested with 50 grams of heroin
Amritsar: The Maqboolpura police have arrested Sunny Singh of the Maqboolpura area for allegedly possessing 50 grams of heroin. The police arrested him during a patrolling. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the suspect. Further investigations were on into the case. TNS
Intoxicant tablets seized from jail
Amritsar: The Amritsar Central Jail authorities confiscated a mobile phone and 120 intoxicant tablets from a prisoner, identified as Kanwaljit Singh of the Gobind Nagar area. The seizure was made during a search operation. A case under the NDPS Act and the prison Act was registered. TNS
Man nabbed with illegal arms
Tarn Taran: The Sarai Amanat Khan police, in its routine patrolling in the area on Saturday, arrested a person with an illegal weapon. Sub-Inspector Dilbag Singh said the accused, identified as Balwinder Singh Billa, a resident of Bhuachar Kalan, was arrested with an illegal rifle and two live cartridges. The accused failed to produce licence for the weapons. A case under Section 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act has been registered. OC
17 cellphones recovered
Tarn Taran: During a routine search, 17 mobile phones were seized from different barracks of the Central Jail, Goindwal Sahib, here, on Monday. Inspector Rajinder Singh, SHO, Goindwal Sahib, said a case under Section 52-A of the Prison Act had been registered.
