Old woman beaten to death, blood soaked body found

Jashpur. A case of beating to death of an old woman named Sukri Bai has come to light in Kadro village of Pathalgaon. The woman was murdered because she had protested against cutting the guava tree growing in the courtyard. However, the police have arrested the accused. Further action is being taken. Actually, the neighbor of the deceased Sukri Bai had cut down the guava tree in Kadro village of Bagbahar police station area.

The deceased Sukri Bai had a dispute with the accused youth regarding this matter. When the dispute escalated, the accused attacked the old woman with the stick of an axe, due to which the old woman died on the spot. Pathalgaon SDOP Harish Patil said that on the information about the murder of the woman, the police has taken into custody the neighboring youth Pitrasaya. After investigating the matter, the police have registered a case of murder against the accused Pitar Sai and are busy in further action.
