Old safe of retired headmaster stolen, thieves left it back in 5 days

Raigarh. The safe stolen from the old house of a retired headmaster has been recovered safely. Frightened by the all-round police siege, the thieves ran away after keeping the 70-year-old safe back outside the house. This case is of Gharghoda. According to sources, retired Pradhan Pathak Shripati Mishra (67 years), living near Hanuman Temple, Ward No. 11 of Gharghoda, was sleeping in a new house under construction after having dinner with his family on the night of 20 January. During this time, the safe kept in the puja room of his old house was taken away by unknown thieves.

The retired headmaster claimed that his 70-year-old safe contained goods worth Rs 1.5 lakh including 50 tola silver old jewellery, Mahalakshmi idol, some rupees and land documents. In such a situation, the police took the incident as a challenge and put all their energy into solving it. Under the supervision of SDOP Deepak Mishra, station in-charge Sharad Chandra and team were continuously interrogating the suspects along with laying a trap of informers. In such a situation, seeing the increasing pressure from the police, the thieves felt that they might get trapped, so without opening the safe, they left it near the old house of Shripati Mishra.
