Odisha vigilance nabs Kandarpur RI Manoj Behera and Amin Bichitrananda Satpathy while taking bribe

Cuttack: Odisha Vigilance today nabbed Kandarpur Revenue Inspector (RI) Manoj Kumar Behera and Amin Bichitrananda Satpathy while demanding and taking bribe of Rs 12,000.
The Vigilance sleuths nabbed the RI and Amin while they were taking the bribe from a complainant (shop owner) near revenue office, Kandarpur to furnish favorable report in a mutation case for conversion of agricultural land to homestead land and issuance of ROR (Patta) in favour of complainant.
For more than a month, the complainant had been requesting the duo to furnish the report required for issuance of ROR. But, the duo were demanding bribe Rs 12,000 to initiate his application and furnish favorable report. Left with no option, complainant reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following this, Vigilance Officers nabbed today the duo while taking demanded bribe Rs 12,000 from the complainant.
The entire bribe money of Rs 12,000 has been recovered and seized from their possession. Following the successful trap, 3 places associated with RI and 2 locations linked to Amin from Disproportionate Asset (DA) angle.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.17/2025, U/s 7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the Behera and Satpathy.
