Odisha train accident: Special train carrying stranded passengers leaves for Chennai
Chennai (IANS) | A special train carrying 250 stranded passengers left Bhadrak for Chennai on Saturday morning following the train accident in Odisha’s Balasore district on Friday evening and will reach Chennai Central Railway Station on Sunday. In addition, Southern Railway will run a special train from Chennai to take the families of the victims to the accident site. The train will leave for Bhadrok in Odisha at 7.20 pm from Chennai Central Railway Station.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin told media persons that the state government was in constant touch with the Odisha government regarding the rescue and other operations.
Although no casualties have been reported from Tamil Nadu so far, the state government has announced a compensation of Rs five lakh each to the families of the deceased.
An amount of Rs one lakh each has been approved for those injured in the accident.
