Odisha to witness rainfall for next four days, predicts IMD

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha will witness rainfall for the next four days, predicted the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the weather department, light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur till March 23. Therefore, people have been advised to keep watch on weather and take safe shelter during the thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning and follow traffic advisories in urban areas.

Also, harvesting of crops may be regulated judicially and farmers are advised to use hail nets to protect vegetables and crops from hail, said IMD.

Valid from 8.30 AM of 19.03.2025 to 8.30 AM of 20.03.2025:

Light rain or thundershower very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Balasore, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Valid from 8.30 AM of 20.03.2025 to 8.30 AM of 21.03.2025:

ORANGE WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning and hail with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Kendrapada.
YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul and Deogarh.
Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul and Deogarh, and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Bargarh and Deogarh.
Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
