Odisha to get relief from intense heatwave conditions as IMD issues rain warning for next 7 days

Bhubaneswar: People of Odisha are all set to get relief from intense heatwave conditions as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued rain warning for the next seven days.
The weather department has issued yellow warnings for thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind over different parts of the State till June 18.

DAY-1: Valid from 8.30 AM of June 12:
Yellow warning: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph & heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

DAY-5: Valid from 8.30 AM of June 15 to till 8.30 AM of June 16:
YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Nuapada, Nawarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi And Malkangiri.
DAY-6: Valid from 8.30 AM of June 16 to till 8.30 AM of June 17:
Yellow Warning: heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri and Koraput.
DAY-7: Valid from 8.30 AM of June 17 to till 8.30 AM of June 18:
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar.
In view of the rain alert of the weather department, the office of the Special Relief Commissioner issued the following advisory:
Districts under yellow warning to keep administrative machinery ready to face any eventuality.
People may be advised to keep watch on weather and take safe shelter during the thunderstorm activity to protect from lightning.
Submit a report on the damage, if occurred due to thunderstorm, whirlwind, hailstorm, lightning and rainfall immediately for information of the government.
