Odisha: Petrol price crosses Rs 105 per litre in Bhubaneswar after fresh hike

Odisha: Fuel prices in Odisha were hiked again on Tuesday, further increasing the pressure of inflation on the general public. Following the latest revision, the price of petrol in the capital, Bhubaneswar, has surpassed ₹105 per liter, causing concern among motorists and consumers.

According to reports, the price of petrol has been increased by 87 paise per liter, while diesel prices have risen by 91 paise per liter. This comes just days after a significant increase of approximately ₹3 per liter in both petrol and diesel prices. These continuous increases have begun to directly impact people’s budgets.

The frequent fuel price hikes across Odisha, including Bhubaneswar, are leading to increased transportation costs. This is affecting not only private vehicle drivers but also public transport and freight costs. This is also expected to impact the prices of everyday commodities.

Local residents say that the ever-rising prices of petrol and diesel are disrupting their monthly budgets. This increase is becoming a significant challenge, especially for the middle class and daily commuters. Many drivers reported that the frequent increases in fuel prices are consuming a significant portion of their income solely on travel expenses.

Traders also say that the cost of transport is increasing, which could directly impact market prices. Some trade organizations have expressed concern that if this situation continues, inflation could rise further.

Experts believe that fluctuations in international crude oil prices and the tax structure are affecting local fuel prices. However, consumers say the government should take concrete steps to control this trend and provide relief to the general public.

Currently, the ever-rising fuel prices in Odisha have increased the hardships of ordinary people, and in the coming days, their impact on transportation and household expenses may be further felt.
