Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida inaugurates 1,889 new Anganwadi centres

Bhubaneswar: As many as 1,889 new Anganwadi Centres (AWC) built in 30 districts of Odisha were inaugurated virtually at the conference hall of the Women and Child Development Department in Bhubaneswar today.
Odisha Deputy CM Pravati Parida inaugurated the Anganwadi centres in the presence of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the government’s approach and said that our main goal is to create “beautiful, efficient and strong Anganwadi.” She reviewed the progress of the work after interacting with the administrative officers of various districts like Balasore, Ganjam, Cuttack, Angul and Deogarh.
Meanwhile, Naik appreciated the efforts of the Women and Child Development Department and said that these children of today will play an important role in building a developed Odisha by 2036.
It is worth noting that this project has been successful with the joint collaboration of the Women and Child Development Department and the Panchayati Raj Department. These new centers will serve as a major centre for nutrition, early education and health awareness for children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
The program was attended by Mrinalini Darswal, the Commissioner and Administrative Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department and other senior officers of both the departments, while District Collectors, Chief Development Officers, District Social Welfare Officer (DSWOs), Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), and other officers of 30 districts joined through virtual mode.
