Odisha CM inaugurates and grounds 20 industrial projects worth Rs 8,884 crore, creating 6,832 direct jobs

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated and grounded a total of 20 industrial projects worth Rs 8,884 crore that is expected to create as many as 6,832 jobs directly.

Majhi inaugurated and grounded the industrial projects while inaugurating the 25th (Silver Jubilee) edition of “Enterprise Odisha 2026” in Rourkela.

During the event, the CM emphasized Western Odisha’s role as a core engine of the state’s industrial growth and declared Western Odisha has evolved from a “next frontier” to a key driver of state’s progress.

While he inaugurated 11 projects (Rs 25,708 crore investment) generating 4,183 jobs, he laid foundation stones for 9 projects (Rs 3,176 crore) adding 2,649 employment opportunities.

This apart, a total of 22 MoUs worth Rs 43,349 crore were signed, with potential for 18,985 jobs.

This apart, the state government also received five investment proposals/intents worth Rs 8,677 crore that is expected to generate 1,442 jobs.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also handed over 1,447.927 acres of land to Vedanta Aluminium for a 3 MTPA smelter and 4,900 MW CPP in Dhenkanal.
