Odisha CM flags off OSRTC buses to Ayodhya and Prayagraj for Mahakumbh Mela

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi flagged off the special buses for the Mahakumbh Mela via video conferencing on Sunday. The buses will run from Berhampur to Ayodhya and Prayagraj from today. As many as 8 OSRTC buses will run from Odisha to UP. The buses will run from Puri, Sambalpur, Bhawanipatna and Berhampur.

In a special programme held at the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) office in Berhampur the buses were flagged off. As many as 42 passengers can travel in one bus. For women passengers a fee concession of 50 per cent has been given on the tickets. OSRTC will also manage the stay and the food of the passengers.

The State government also has issued a toll-free helpline (1800-345-1122) and a WhatsApp number (78490052205) to address passenger inquiries.

Notably, the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is slated to begin at Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh from January 13 with the Paush Purnima Snan and will continue till February 26, 2025.
