Odisha CM declares unseasonal rain as natural disaster, affected farmers to get financial assistance
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday declared the unseasonal rain as natural disaster. Saying this during the ‘Krushi Odisha 2025’ the CM said that the affected farmers will be provided financial assistance.
As per reports, the CM declared unseasonal rain as natural disaster. He said this at the Krishi Odisha Mancha in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
After receiving the crop damage report, the state government declared the unseasonal rain as a natural disaster. Financial assistance from SDRF will be provided to all the affected farmers.
Farmers who have suffered 33% or more loss due to the unseasonal rain backed crop damage will get compensation for their losses.
The Collectors of the affected districts have given the loss report. Reportedly, 6 lakh 66 thousand 720 farmers have suffered more than 33 percent loss in 2 lakh 26 thousand 791 hectares of land.
Accordingly, the government will provide financial assistance to the tune of Rs 291 crore 65 lakh from the SDRF fund, the CM said.
