Odia film producer Rabi Swain passes away at 75

Odisha: Renowned Odia film producer, industrialist, and renowned social worker Rabi Swain passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 75. He breathed his last at around 6 a.m. while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He had been suffering from liver cirrhosis. Swain, a well-known figure in Pipili, was well-known for his contributions to the Odia film industry.

He produced several popular films, including Jor Zar Mulk Tar, directed by Raju Mishra, Heba Sua Posile, directed by Basanta Sahu, and Panjuri Bhitare Sari and Udandi Sita, directed by Avtar Singh. These films received critical acclaim throughout the state. In addition to his work in cinema, Swain was also an entrepreneur and educator. He founded several institutions, including the Kshetramohan Memorial Trust, Om Shanti College of Science and Technology, Kshetramohan ITC, and Daitari ITC, which contributed to education and skill development in the region.
