NSUI leader arrested, Bilaspur police sent him to jail

Bilaspur. Students of Guru Ghasidas Central University (GGU) have made serious allegations against the management. They say that there is irregularity in seed money, distribution of lakhs of rupees to desired professors, appointment of relatives of employees, corruption in Wi-Fi, canteen and tenders. On Tuesday, as soon as the news of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai’s arrival at the university program was received, the students were preparing to meet him directly and present their complaints and evidence. But Koni police caught them before they could reach the program venue.

Four students, NSUI University Vice President Sarthak Mishra, Sudeep Shastri, Shubham Jaiswal and Avneet Pandey were arrested under Section 151 and presented in the City Magistrate’s Court, from where they were sent to jail. NSUI leaders alleged that Vice Chancellor Prof. Alok Chakrawal is acting arbitrarily. Students of the state hardly get 10 percent seats in the university. They say that they wanted to draw attention to this issue by giving a memorandum to the Chief Minister, but the BJP government’s police arrested them beforehand and sent them to Bilaspur Central Jail.

The students allege that this action was taken at the behest of the university management so that their message could not reach the Chief Minister.
