Notorious Naxalite caught with tiffin bomb, absconding accomplice also arrested

Bijapur. The police has achieved great success under the anti-Naxal campaign being run in Bijapur district. Police have arrested a Naxalite with explosives. At the same time, a Naxalite who was absconding for years and was involved in murder, explosion and firing incidents has also been caught by the police. Police said that the joint team of DRG and Jangla police station had gone towards Badetungali Potenar for anti-Naxal operation, when a suspicious person was trying to hide in the forest after seeing the police on the forest trail of Potenar. The police surrounded and arrested him. Police recovered a tiffin bomb, Cordex wire, detonator, leaflet-banner of Naxal organization and electric wire from the bag found with him.

On interrogation, he revealed his name to be Kamlu Sodhi (24), son of Hando Sodhi, resident of Potenar police station Jangla. Action has been taken against him in Jangla police station under sections of Indian Penal Code and Public Safety Act. At the same time, militia member Sodhi Sannu (32), son of Bitto, resident of Potenar police station Jangla, who was absconding for years, was caught. The arrested accused was involved in the murder of a villager of Potenar on 5 September 2006.

At the same time, in the incident of blasting an IED on a police team near Bardela on 9 July 2010, in the incident of firing on a police party in Potenar forest on 8 October 2014, in the incident of planting a pressure IED near Jaivaram on 3 April 2015, 4 He was involved in the arson incident in a passenger bus between Bardela and Jangla on August 2015, the IED blast incident at Tekri near Bardela on April 8, 2017, and the murder of assistant constable Raju Lekam in Potenar on January 7, 2018. Six permanent warrants are pending against the said accused in Jangla police station.
