Nomination started for Varanasi section graduate-teacher election, 14 people took papers on the first day
Varanasi. The nomination process for the Varanasi section graduate and teacher elections of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council started from Tuesday. On the first day of nomination, no candidate filed his nomination in the Additional Commissioner First Court located in the Divisional Commissionerate Complex. However, a total of 14 people preparing to contest the elections received nomination papers by submitting treasury challans. Of these, nine people took nomination for the graduate constituency and five for the teacher constituency.

With the commencement of the nomination process, there is a possibility of increased activity in the political and educational circles regarding the Legislative Council elections in Varanasi section. The election for graduate and teacher constituency is different from the general assembly election. In this, the registered voters in the respective constituency elect their representative. Even though no nominations were filed on the first day, there are indications that the number of nominations will increase in the coming days with 14 people taking nominations. Potential candidates who have received nomination papers have started preparing their documents and completing the formalities related to the proposers. It is believed that there may be an increase in the number of people filing nominations in the last days.
