Noida: Due to cold, schools up to class 8th closed till January 14

Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Saturday ordered all schools in Noida and Greater Noida to declare holidays for students of classes 8 to January 14 in view of dense fog and cold climatic conditions. This order issued by Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar is applicable to all schools recognized by the state board, CBSE, ICSE, IB and others. In view of the dense fog and extreme cold, in compliance with the instructions given by District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, all the schools affiliated to Janta (CBSE/ICSE IB, UP Board and others) (from Guard to 8th class) which operate in the district. There will be holiday in Gautam Buddh Nagar till January 14″, he said. “The order should be strictly followed,” Panwar said. Meanwhile, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) Dharamvir Singh said that during this period, the timings for classes 9 to 12 will be from 10 am to 3 pm. The minimum temperature has dropped to single digit figures in some parts of western Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature recorded in Gautam Buddha Nagar on Saturday was 9 degrees Celsius and it is expected to remain between 9 to 13 degrees Celsius during the next six days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a severe hailstorm and fog warning for western Uttar Pradesh, including Gautam Buddh Nagar. The IMD said in a sub-divisional notice that there is a possibility of fog as well as cold hailstorm on Saturday and Sunday, followed by lightning, thunderstorm and fog on Tuesday.
