Noida: 26-year-old woman gang-raped near shopping mall, main accused absconding

Noida: In an unfortunate incident, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly raped by five men near a commercial centre. According to the police, three suspects have been arrested while the interrogation of the other two, including the accused Kunji, who is a strong local man, is ongoing. According to the official statement issued by the police, the alleged incident of gang rape is not a recent one, but the complaints have been going on for a long time and it seems that the culprits were “strong” men (strong men). However, the woman finally mustered the courage to approach the police on December 30 after being harassed by the accused on more than one occasion. “An FIR was lodged at the Sector 39 Commissionerate on December 30, following which an investigation was launched and three accused were arrested,” a police spokesperson told news agency PTI. “The detained have been identified as Rajkumar, Azad and Vikas. The other two suspects, Ravi and Mehmi, are on the run,” the port said. Police said the detained accused were produced before a local tribunal, where they were kept in judicial custody.
