‘No flowers-no gifts, tea and vegetarian food in Kulhad’

Assam | Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwa Sharma has issued an advisory to all Deputy Commissioners, listing out details of the easing programs to be followed during their official visits to districts. The advisory states that honoring the Chief Minister with Gamocha/Bouquet of flowers should be strictly avoided and no gift should be given to him. In case of Chief Minister’s night stay, the next morning’s program should start with commercial plantation. The advisory said that tea should be served in kulhads and water should be kept in glass bottles or jugs instead of single-use plastic bottles.
Lunch and dinner menu should always be simple vegetarian food with Assamese/local tribal menu. Sameer Sinha, principal secretary to the chief minister, tweeted, “This advisory has been issued because the Chief Minister wants that any VIP culture should be avoided and a culture of simplicity should be adopted.”
